Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she was a producer of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The next position she was offered was a Sports Reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved in 2009 to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Her stories covered immigration drugs, immigration, as well as other issues on both the Texas and Mexico border. She was also a Spanish reporter on the newscast from 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter on the newscast of 9 p.m. with a reporter and anchor in English and again a Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. Anchor duties for weather or sports were often demanded. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on other duties. She reported on events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She has been promoted to anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also served as a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. She's younger than her sister. There is an older sibling. After a short time, her father split from her mother. She was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. Her residence was in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer in which she was provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school, but she had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. Following the completion of her high school education she enrolled in the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and manager at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
